i love my Axis super sport for his polyvalence 5 positions + piezo
i must have to play it more ,it was better month after month
great guitar for cleans ,crunch sounds

but....

my old (1996) Axis is my main , i've a better felling with it maybe his age is for something , the neck was played and played
and the better i've never played
it has more loud sounds and output level ,more attack

would like to try one with MM90

:)

I have two Super Sports (both with rosewood necks: one trem, one hardtail) and recently acquired a 2000 Axis. Much as I love rosewood necks and historically avoided Floyds, I have to say that I prefer the Axis. The Axis has been modded a bit (SS frets, trem set to float, Tremol-No, push/pull pot to split coils, brass sustain block) but with the push/pull, its tonal breadth is surprising. I sometimes miss having a tone control but love the tuning stability afforded by the Floyd. Also, while the necks on my ASSes are wonderful, the one on my Axis is sublime!

Thanks for your response!!! Aleclee,......Up until recently...I thought I preferred my Axis Tributes....but lately I have really been enjoying these ASS tones.....Did you enjoy the tone on my clip?....That was my ASS today......THANKS,

Straight ahead Axis for me. First I don't like 5-way switches and I see no use for a tone knob. The stability of the locking trem cannot be beat. Axis is simple and perfect for me.

Sounded nice but IME, the Axis and ASS don't sound so terribly different. Each has tones that the other can't cop. On the ASS, I miss the split neck tone I have on my Axis. On the Axis, I miss the tone control as well as the in-between tones of the ASS.

Axis straight. Hands down. I needs me that Floyd. Would be interested in a HSH 5-way Axis, though.

For me, it's the Axis Super Sport. I need the in between sounds of the 5-way for clean tones and a tone knob for further tonal variation. Also, I am over the Floyd rose and prefer the EBMM vintage trem.

Axis Sport ;)

I love the Axis but the floyd is not for me. So either Axis Super Sport or Axis Sport for me, also because I use those in between position a lot

My preference is for the Axis Super Sport as well. I have owned to Axis and one ASS which I still have. I like being able to float the trem a bit and I have great luck with MM trem's returning in tune

Axis Sport, the best of both worlds!! The ash body gives it some extra attack which compares to the Axis and the 5 way gives it the versatillaty of the ASS. And the pick guard gives it the ultimate cool factor!
