Hi Roberta.

Although a good question I doubt whether you will get that information. I certainly don't speak on behalf of Ernie Ball, but similar requests in the past have not bourne fruition due to the policy of the Company not releasing this type of info.

If you check out the thread at
http://forums.ernieball.com/music-man-guitars/26748-official-ball-family-reserve-picture-thread.html

you can establish that BFR's were being built in Jan 2004 (the date the thread started).

However BFR's were in production before that date. The reason for the thread is that people surfing the net were looking at poor quality dealer photographs and were jumping to the conclusion that the BFR tops along with the other BFR innovations, were not of a high enough quality to warrant the extra money - one "surfer" coinned the phrase "That Top Sucks" and the forum picked up on this innacurate statement and now uses that phrase, as a term of endearment for a guitar top that is actually stunning. T shirts bearing that phrase were also sold by Ernie Ball. The link to the T shirt is here Ernie Ball | Apparel - Ball Family Reserve L

Ok, I've wandered off the topic slightly !!!.

Mitigating circumstances -Wooley head resulting from taking one for the Team having to attend the Guitar Clinic last night in Guildford.

Sorry Roberta :)
