Hi fellas,

some of you might have read that I just had a motorbike accident 3 weeks ago. By now I am slowly recovering, but with 7 ribs broken directly next to the spine on the right hand side of my back, it's pure torture to sit, lay down or even try to sleep. Best thing for me at the moment is to spend my days up and move slowly, but as one might guess, playing guitar is somehow a little hard when you cannot really hold one with a weak back... :(

Now - being at home, not able to do anything useful really pisses me off and gets me pretty frustrated. Whenever I get those feelings - that's when my female side kicks in telling me the soothing words "C'mon boy, get yer ass up and go shopping !" :D

So, as I had to get myself some additional medication, I tried to drive my car for the first time in three weeks now to go to the pharmacy and get some stuff. The driving went quite well so I decided to park my car in town and give my tech's shop (you know "Mick" from the forum) a li'l visit and see what's up at his'.
Now what do my sore eyes behold in his display window ?!?!

SHOPPING !!!

The new Ernie Ball Wah was just what it took to sooth my frustration ;)
I also got myself a few bottles of a nice li'l Australian Shiraz-Cabernet to go along with the Wah for tonight, and I guess I'll be doing increasingly better from today on, even though it'll take a couple more weeks before I can go see my bandmates & amps at rehearsal place again...

I didn't know about the accident. I'm glad you're ok and recovering.

The Wah's are awesome. I love mine.

Nice car BTW!

Sorry about your accident. I know the ribs can be excruciatingly painful. Take care and get well soon.

Never broken anything so can only imagine & wish you well. Buying yourself a nice new presnt is usually good for ANY kind of ailment.
Oh and sell the Death Device and buy yourself a nice bicycle like mine.

Wishing you a very speedy recovery...and purchasing the EB Wah and the Cabernet might just be the perfect combination on that road to healing.

I like your style! :D

Broken ribs are quite painful, but that new Wah should take your mind off of the pain for awhile......and I'm sure the wine will also have some sort of positive effect ;)

Good to hear that you're doing well!

How's your recording rig coming along? Ever got around giving the pod another go?

Sorry to hear about the off, fella. I broke two ribs round my back a couple of years back when I launched my 'bike into a field . It is indeed an extremely painful break. Hope you are on the mend.

Did the bike make it, or is it totalled?

Axel, I'm glad to see that you weren't more seriously hurt. Get well soon!

For about 30 seconds a couple of days ago, I entertained the idea of getting a motorcycle. Then, I remembered the epithet "donor cycle" (as in organ donor). Not a risk I'm willing to take, but I understand the appeal--most definitely.

Wah-wah, guys !

A nice summer evening here and I got to try the Wah on my poor li'l PV practive amp at home.
Great operation and sound and I cannot wait to hear it on the Diezel in a few weeks when I can drive again and go to rehearsal.

Thanks to all of you for your nice wishes and I'm surely keeping out of any trouble at the moment to make sure the ribs heal quick.

@Rossie: Nope, I dropped the idea of a modelling recording solution when I was asked to join the band I'm now playing with since January. We have a huge rehearsal place even including a fridge and bathroom :D It even contains digital 16-track recording facilities and some really good recording mics. So when I bought my Diezel Einstein head to go with my old Marshall and Hiwatt cabinets, I lost the interest in modelling since I spent most my time at rehearsal playing "live" :)
Maybe I will again look for a POD or something like that when my balance has recovered from the Diezel, which still might take some time

Cheers

Axel

I have to admit that the thread title scared me. I was relieved to read that you weren't shopping in a lingerie section somewhere. lol

I wish I had known about the EBMM wah before I bought another brand to replace the one I had many years ago. :(

Hey Axel,
when I read the title, it was absolutely clear, that you´ve bought something. I thought it was a guitar.

I noticed, that you´ve been not so often around here lately, but I knew nothing about an accident. I hope everything is getting fine so far.

greets
