There's a BIN auction going on eBay right now: Linkee. It's for four Schaller tuners that look, as far as I can tell, just like the EBMM ones, except for the different name stamp. If you want to go all the way and get the official ones, you'd have to call EBMM customer service and ask 'em about it. The general EBMM policy is that to get new parts, you gotta send in yours.

^does that apply to necks too?

do they compensate you at all for the parts that they're taking away from you? because that seems a little unfair to just take and not give a little back.

I think it does Mike.

Maybe Jon or someone could explain fully, but I think it's to stop the aftersales market developing and people making frankenstein basses outta parts....

How is it unfair? They are replacement parts. If it needs to be replaced, they don't want it out on the market. Why would they need to compensate you? It's included in the cost of the replacement--new part=$$$ plus your old parts.

I guess it's kinda like buying a new alternator for your car & bringing the old one back.

With certain parts (necks, bridges, pickups etc) yes, we require the old part returned to us. We don't want bad parts out there. If your part is bad, why would you want to keep it anyway? Tuners can be purchased without returning the old ones. You can call customer service.

What exactly are "all the parts" we would be taking from you? Take and not give a little back?? Huh??

haha....what i meant was...
if it would cost X amount of dollars to replace your neck, i was saying if they would pay you back a little for the neck you are sending back. i mean...after all, you paid for the neck. it's sort of like you're giving them a used neck for free. and i understand that they don't want their parts on the market so that people can make fake EB's, but i just want to know if they'd....i don't know...compensate. am i making sense?

Maybe that dog of Jon's has a secret ebay account for selling off old tarnish and bad EB parts?

JK of course. If EB let you keep the bad neck how long would it be before you ebayed it?
