Why is the selection online for Bongos so limited? It would be nice if there were more inventory out there to choose from. Is there a production issue or just low demand?

I think he means that stores have in stock.... most musicstores here in europe have none or verry limited ebmm basses in stock and if they do, almost all sr4 H basses. I don't know if this is the same in the usa?

Ive recently had a talk with a local musicstore owner and asked him why he didnt sell musicman basses and guitars. He said that there just isnt anny demand. The way i see it, if people dont know it and they can grab a fender or gibson in the store, where there is a good choice and you can try it out. Then why would they order a musicman without ever having played one.... if more stores had musicman guitars in stock, people could try them and see that they are excellent and my guess is that they will sell.
That same guy also told me that the "dimension" basses from fender are taking alot of sales away from the stingray, in my opinion the dimension is just a musicman ripoff thats not worth its money. but again, people like to see and try an instrument and take it home if they like it. If there is nothing there to try out, they will never even concider it. Well, the bongos have a extra hard time getting to stores because it is such a love it or hate it design, dealers hesitate to order it.

Without MusicMan basses on the wall he's not creating demand... From the shop owners view it's just a matter of what you sell more often. That Bongo bass occupies a place that could have sold six Fender basses in the same period. A shame really, people should really know how great MusicMan basses are.

Online there's indeed a lot of SR4 basses to be found. Sterlings and Sabres much less so.

It's the lemming effect. The good news is that the more a bass player becomes proficient, the more they test equipment to find sounds and thus find Bongos to be excellent.

Ive said this before on here. In the Uk some of the biggest stores don't stock enough MM instruments. Disapointing really and id expect EBMM to at least have some demo instruments in some of the bigger stores. Missing a trick

Most of the popular online music stores only have a Limited selection of bongos and the ones they do have are typically black or blue. The color choices for 4string seem particularly limited. I know I can order something but it's nice to see the actual bass you are buying and be able to have it in a few days.

I agree, its always nice to try before you buy and whether or not EBMM have a good reputation its unrealistic to expect to bring new customers in when there is a very limited number of instruments available to try in store, especially outside the US.

its the price I paid for being disruptive...how dare I make a diffent looking and sounding bass...bongo is over 11 years old and is still the state of the art electric bass in my opinion. Someday.....someday

I had a guy over at our rehearsal room yesterday who wanted to buy my Mesa Amp. He asked me to bring a bass to test it because he was coming directly after work and had no instrument with him.

So I brought the Bongo.

The guy was a much, much better player than me, in fact one of the best I've seen play in front of me and he was utterly blown away by how great the bongo sounded and played.

Imo the finest bass guitar around. What I love so much is the astonishing flexibility while still retaining an unmistakable voice.

Time flies when you're playing Bongos. Eleven years? I've been this happy for that long?

I know where there is a gorgeous Bongo 4H in Neptune Blue that needs a good home, still brand new...
