Not sure if im gonna buy these, but which one do you like better, the Sunburst or the Trans gold?

The Sunburst has corrosion on the bridge and is from 1996 and the Trans Gold is almost dead mint.

Check em out:

Here are the links as well
Find MUSIC MAN MUSICMAN AXIS EARLY '96 TRANSLUCENT SUNBURST on eBay within Musicman, Electric, Guitars, Musical Instruments (end time 13-Nov-07 14:38:12 GMT)

Find Ernie Ball Musicman Axis - Gold - Mint on eBay within Other Electric, Electric, Guitar, Musical Instruments (end time 12-Nov-07 04:53:55 GMT)

What i dont like about the Sunburst is the corrosion on the bridge. I would have to buy a whole gotoh floyd to replace it as i cant find seperate saddles for it.

buy a set of Graphtech floyd saddles. I have them on my Axis as i really rate them anyway. I don't notice a difference in tone (it's still fantastic!) and no chance of breaking strings either. Win-Win! :D

Oh and they fit the Gotoh floyd on the Axis perfectly.

Ignore it. It's not likely to be terminal.

If it's really a problem, you should be able to clean a lot of it off (I've done it before using a soft wire brush on a polishing wheel. Off the guitar of course....)

Cherryburst or Honeyburst guys???

No idea, but I'd be inclined to believe what Rob said, seeing as though he's probably owned just about every colour produced :D

The pickups are exactly the same as the ones that are being used on the current Axis models, so don't buy into the whole 'the early ones sound better' line.

He says that he'll only ship to the UK, have you cleared that with him?

Well the guy says its translucent sunburst and this is what EBMM told him. this is his quote " I thought it was a honeyburst but I've been in touch with musicman and they describe it as translucent sunburst"

Whatever that means. Also the case is not a musicman case. He also said that the saddles are easily obtainable from warmoth parts, whatever than means.

Im not liking this deal more and more.

the honey axis purely for the reasons that a: its in better condition & b: because you'll probably get it cheaper including shipping. the sunburst one has more character but the price is about £75 too high on average for the uk used market for an axis of that age and condition.

just my 2cents chief.
