Oh, one more thing Ivan,

don't know whether you know Lukas Truninger / Prostage.
I had him "midify" my Diezel Einstein a while back and he does excellent new looper/switcher drawers to fit 19" racks:

Prostage - Drawer Loop & Switch System XDS

...just in case you should switch to pedals/stomp boxes and want them true-bypassed AND midi-programmable... Coloration when bypassed is not an issue anymore...
Have a look at their site and maybe the online store - it's much less expensive there than in stores...

Cheers mate

Axel

The TC Nova Delay is an awesome and very flexible pedal that would serve all your needs. I also have a Boss RE-20 and MXR Carbon Copy on my board as well as the Nova Delay. (Overkill? Likely....certainly for my purposes it is but I have them just because).

For a chorus, I've always been a fan of the TC Chorus however I had a hard time finding a reasonably priced one on the resale market and the new ones were just too damn expensive. I opted for a Digitech Chorus Factory......and I have to say it is an amazing pedal especially for a Digitech product.

It costs almost as much as TC Nova Delay. Do you think it's as good or maybe better?
So much of this is personal preference. I like the DD-20 better (it does what I need), but others prefer the TC. They're both great pedals and you can't go wrong either way.

The Evantide looks pretty wild too, haven't tried it.

I have the TC Stereo Chorus Flanger. I like it because it doesn't add a lot of noise to the signal path. My Rocktron Tsunami chorus is great for Andy Summers type '80s chorus sounds. I don't have a lot of experience with delays, but I have the TC Nova Delay and I like it a lot.

Another vote here for the DD-20. I've never tried the nova delay though. But You get 5 Delay presets on the DD-20. I'm loving the smooth delay sound. And with a couple of amps you get some nice roomy ping pong delays happening.

Just my 2 cents. (which is approx 0.05 Papua New Guinea kina)

I've got the boss DD-20 and would buy it again if I had to do it over again. Excellent pedal.

Although, I have heard good things about the boss dd-7 and the mxr Carbon copy. I guess it really depends on what your needs are. Do you need several presets? Is there a type of dalay you like best like digital, analog, tape, etc?

I just bought the T.C. Electronic Vintage Delay. It stomps all over the Nova Delay (rightly so, if they charge $399). They don't make it anymore, but a few online retailers sell it. I've tried the Eventide and the Nova Delay, and the Vintage pedal sounds better to my ears.

For chorus I just picked up the Voodoo Labs CE-1 Analog Chorus clone. Its all analog and true bypass, sounds phenomenal.

Bottom line: T.C. VDP!

Several presets would be nice. The thing I definitely need is to be able to fine tune the delay time and that's what I like about Nova Delay. If you listen to the song Cascading Mirrors on my myspace you'll see why. I need to be able to set my delay time to dotted eight notes at 130 bpm (or 346 ms straight) for that song.

I think that's pretty close to what I'm currently leaning into... But as far as I know the CE-2 is not manufactured anymore, right?

no but you can find one on Ebay probably. Im using a boss CE-5 since my CE-2 broke. i like it but is a bit digital but it gets the job done and is a very good chorus and its around 80 dollars US.

Here's a demo that i find gets the point across

The time factor is a bit too expensive for me, but TC nova delay is something I could afford... but the thing I noticed instantly is that time factor has a true analog bypass and the TC nova doesn't. So does the bypass on the TC nova change the sound a lot?

not so much that i noticed. playing it live, the colouration was limited. you would notice it should you mic up and record using a few grand's worth of valve mic though.

When I use chorus, I still dig my late 80s Boss CE-2. :)

As for delay? I've got one of those cheapo Dano pedals ... but barely find time to use it .....

cheers always, eh

The DD-20 will do this as well.

I have a Boss DD-20, gets the job done and looks reliable (TC Nova Delay looks like a toy and the preset changing is a bit wacky to me - you know hold for 2 seconds then tap then sth else bla bla)

I was looking quite a bit to find my new chorus (after my boss ce-5 fried) and found Fulltone Choralflange. Absolutely beautiful pedal, it does nice EVH flange, and nice Leslie sound
