i would go for "SFAM Metropolis Part 2" for the next CD. for me it is still the best DT album ever.
some will lough at me now, but i more and more love Falling Into Infinity. especially Trial of Tears - wow a perfect song.
so my choice would be:
SFAM
FII
Octavarium

FII is indeed cool. Especially if you've heard the demo versions of some of the songs.

There are so many winners in that album.

Trial Of Tears
Lines In The Sand (That solo!!! The last time heard something that emotional from JP was Age Of Impact!)
Hollow Years
New Millenium
Peruvian Skies

Oh wow...:D

Of all the songs on Scenes From A Memory, Home just does it for me. Oh man, the build up on this just kicks smoke. It definately has a drop d vibe, reminiscent of a Tool song.

Awake is a classic, must have album imo.

That's an impossible question to answer with one specific album. You really have to get them all. I'd go with Images And Words, Awake, SDOIT and keep going till you have them all.

Thanks everyone. I was really in a detuned/7-string heavy JP mood last night and Awake is doin it for me, I'll be getting 6DOIT next.

If you want a little bit of a sampler platter, you could pick up Once in a LiveTime (2-disc set). I also highly recommend Live Scenes From New York (SFAM plus another 1.5 discs of awesome material).

I think Scenes From a Memory is one of DT's best; you really should add that one to your catalog.

While you're at it, also get JP's solo album, Suspended Animation.
