A 5er (any model) that's a lot lighter than my SR5s.

My Bongo 5H weighs less than 9 lbs.

Weight is a moving target, though… it really depends on the individual piece of wood and the configuration of the bass.

Pickups have to weigh more than the wood they displace (wood floats, metal doesn't), so a multi-pickup bass will weigh more than one with a single pickup, all else being equal. Thing is, all else is never equal because of the wood.

If you're looking for light, I'd suggest Bongo (basswood is lighter), Big Al (body is small) and Sterling (ditto).

Good points. I prefer the single pickup models anyway. (Although I could be tempted by a SSS Big Al...) Generally, there isn't an abundance of EBs here in the UK, so the chances of finding a light one aren't that great. I'll keep my eyes open anyway.

A maple/maple roasted toasted necked Slo Special 'Ray would be an auto-buy for me.

But then I wake up.

An SR5H in blueburst or white, with white pg and rosewood board.

(A Douglas I think you may be wrong - cables, circuit boards and pick ups all float in water also - an unfortunate accident proved this to me :D weight is mostly in the wood!)

I would be all over a Big Al 5 HSS if the factory ever offered it. Additionally i'd like to see it with a high gloss neck/headstock. As much as I love my current BA5-H, an HSS version of it would be impossible to resist.

Oh, and one more bass I would like to add is a 5 string with 19mm spacing.

That would be huge! :D

I'm still loving that all roasted Bongo BP showed us a few weeks back and would love for that thing to go into production! If it does, I will sell whatever I have to sell to be able to order one. What was funny was the night before BP made that post, Rochelle had asked me if I could have 1 custom bass, what would it be? I told her an all roasted Bongo but maybe have the body made of Koa wood depending on the weight it would be. But that basswood one looked really good too though.

I'm also looking forward to the Game Changer coming out. That thing intrigues me so much. I doubt I will buy one this year as we have too much going on but maybe it will be my present next year after tax returns.

I also want to add that I hope the Roasted Necks become available as a regular order option. I like them so much that if they do ever become available, I will probably order ever Music Man bass from here on out with that option because I like them that much!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERY ONE!!!As many SUB basses I can find,I purchased my first EB bass last month Its an active white sub 4,The verdict is in, It has replaced my G&L L2000..I can't afford to buy all the 1k plus EB's I would love to have this year so I figure I would collect the SUBS..I really wanted a slo special for the thinner neck but I am quite comfterble with the SUB neck.I just came back home to Florida from Chicago for the holidays.I went to seven pawn shops and NO EB's.So that tells me that even in this bad economy people are holding on to them.I DO SEE THE DISTANT FUTURE.....A ball Family reserve roasted quilted stingray and I am really diggin' the Stealth bongo..Now just have to play better to be worthy of them..
