I have been playing 3 hours a day for 3 weeks straight since my Al sss LE came in and yesterday I was at gc and picked up a usa strat and pluged it in to my same amp. it was way different to what my Al sounds like and my hands did not like the strat neck. I could not wait to get home to wash my hands and play my buttercream Al.

My Silo Spec with SSS pickups sounds stratty enough, but it's smoother and there's more "air" in the tone. My actual strat sounds harder and more trebly.

I'd like a little more beef and clang from the guitar, though... as long as I keep the polarity identical to the original pickup set can I replace the pickups and still keep the Silent Circuit running properly?

Can't imagine why it wouldn't work. A friend (I've not seen in a long while) had a set of Fralins in his SS and had no problems with it.
