Which is a better back up bass Fender precision Or a Dean Edge Select Bass

I recently brought my first musicman bass,someone offer me a Fender Precision Bass IN trade for My Dean Edge select,I need some advice on this deal. I do like Fender P basses. LOU LOVE

What sort of P bass is it? P basses generally retain their value better than a Dean.

Of course, the best backup for a Stingray is...another Stingray! Although sometimes I use a Sterling. In emergencies, a Jazz.
