Which size graphtech saddles for MM Axis Sport?

Well I'm pretty settled on these... I have them on two of my guitars already and they're cheap, sound good as far as I'm concerned and are readily available here in the EU.

What I'm wondering is which of the many graphtech offerings would fit... I'd go for the American ones, but they fit my Strat perfectly while my Strat's original saddles are a tiny bit wider than the Axis'... (or else I'd just replace my Axis' with these!).

Thanks!

I fitted the black PS-8000-00 set to an Axis Sport, and they fit fine.

Advertised as the "Strat Import" saddles, there is a tiny gap between them.

They do indeed work well.

Pics after fitment!

Not so sure, fella.

Never used those ones; depending on their width they may bunch up and force the string to the edge of the saddle.

To be sure, you could do a string change on you Strat and have a quick swap over onto the Axis Sport just to try them, to be sure?

When I say tiny gap in mine, it is just that. They are in alignment, just not absolutely shoulder to shoulder across all six.

Aye I see... damn I miss Edinburgh, it's where I got all my graphtech saddles from, readily available at any stores there.

I did a quick try already where I swapped one of the MM saddles for a Fender HW1's... and it's a tiny bit larger. I'll see about trying with the graphtech ones.

Ok I just measured:

Axis saddle is overall about 10.82mm wide.
Fender highway1 saddles are about 10.90mm wide. Not a big difference but when you have 6 saddles in a row, one of the Fender ones is enough to push the others aside. Not a straight swap here.

I also measured against the graphite saddles and it seems the import ones are too narrow (as you mentioned there's a wee gap) while the US ones are too large.

sorry to bring up an old post, im looking to buy a set for my silo, for u have them on the silo, which ones did u buy? 8000-00 or 8000-F0 ?

Graphtech Ferraglides Classics for Import Strat.
There are few on EvilBay.

.... 8000-00 or 8000-F0 ?

I have the String Saver Originals (PS-8000-00), and the String Saver Classics (PG-8000-00) on 2 x EBMM guitars.

In both of the above sets each saddle is 10.41mm wide, whereas the PG-8000-F0 are 11.18mm, and a touch too wide. They are mainly suitable for "USA Strat" bridges.

As mentioned above, the one's you are after are advertised as the "Import Strat" saddles.

Hope that helps.

I've been looking at replacement saddles as well for my '98 Axis. It's a hard game to play identifying a close replacement.
I'm personally leaning towards Graphtech since I have a set in my USA PRS Standard where the Graphtech clearly out performs the PRS stock saddles. But the measurements aren't not quite the same as the MM saddles. That's what's holding me back.

I located Gotoh S108 Saddles that offer a near exact measurement to the MM saddle and they look more similar as well. They're made of pressed steel. Not so sure what benefits pressed steel offers verses teflon coated or if wiping mineral oil into the saddles helps with string breakage.

Not for nothing but if string breakage is the main issue you're trying to solve you may not need new saddles. A light filing or sanding followed by polishing the slot should take out any burs.
