Hello,

I'm new here and mainly playing upright bass.

Recently I've bought an OLP Tony Levin SR5. There was a paper that said that the instrumen in equipped with with EB Slinky Strings. Sounds with this stock strings better to me than my 20 years old Fender P-Bass. But I feel that the TL could sound better, more responsible.

Which string can you recommend for this bass. I mostly play jazz standards with walking lines. No slapping.

Thanks, Leo

Well, that's easy--Give the Ernie Ball Flatwounds a shot. I've got them on two of my Bongos, and they're amazing. The 5 string set is basically a Group III set with an added low B. One of the best flatwound B strings in my opinion which makes it a shame they are so difficult to come by without ordering them online, or through a store.
