You who have seen both: Which one did you like most? Which one is "whitest"?

I'm not really a sparkle guy, so how much does it sparkle? I'm just after the "whitest" guitar I can find, basicly. :)

Edit: Ofcourse I mean White Pearl, as in the body color!

Then I'm thinking you mean "white" vs "white pearl ", as pearloid is a pickguard material.

My 98 Silo in white is sort of off white now, so I'm no help. But I think whitepearl would win.

Well, it's not "White" if whitest is what you're looking for. Mine's pretty much on the verge of Buttercream, now.

Yeah Nils - I think my 98 "white" Silo is more light buttercreme now too. What's funny is, under the pickguard where light hasn't been, it's really yellowing nicely. Must be a trait of this paint. If the Pearlwhite is a newer color without a track record then nobody would know how it ages yet. But to me it looks alot whiter. Isn't Robs new Silo Spec Pearlwhite? Take a look.

Even my brand new white jp6 i ordered (and no longer have) was the color of unbleached cotton or a healthy tooth. The Dimarzio white cotton cliplock strap was a perfect match and it is unbleached cotton. Still a cool color, but I would have preferred White Pearl which was not an option at the time.

This whiteness should be an attribute of the paint, but the colour change is not. It's due to the aging and yellowing of the poly finish. So, whether it's white pearl, or white, it'll still yellow the same way. But to begin with, I think white pearl is "whiter" than white.

White and White Pearl are pretty much the same whiteness. The White Pearl has a bit of a shimmer to it, but not a sparkle. Under bright lights this makes it appear just a little bit brighter than the regular white.

I don’t have a plain white guitar in stock to do a literal side-by-side, but here are some close-ups of otherwise identical ALs - background color is slightly different due to lighting.
