Hey guys,

After getting my first ball a month ago, I was inspired to redo and simplify my entire rig to achieve "that sound". Well, now I've found that sound, in the form of a Marshall JVM. Now, I have a G Major and a Behringer FCB as well. The thing is, the behringer used to be programmed for my Triaxis rig- and I can't figure it out for this JVM!?

I can't remember how to set it up. Does anybody have it set up for a JVM or similar? What do you think would be the best way to utilize the 10 presets on the pedal, since there are 12 channels on the JVM, for maximum control? I would love to have the marshall and the G major to work together so that I could have less "Tap- Dancing" as I do with pedals. I'll post some pictures of all I've got.

Or should I just sell the rackmount effects, and become pedal-bound?

I spent 2.5 hours the other night programming the my Gmajor/ Roctron Midi mate to get them to talk with one another. PITA!

First, you need to get the FCB and the JVM on the same midi channel and see what happens. If you have the manuals (which you can download) that step should be the 'easiest' to figure out. You may need to do a factory reset on the Behringer. That manual is a bear. From there you can see what pressing a button does to the amp.

EDIT:
Just noticed something - page 5 pf the JVM manual goes thru the midi programming. Seems 'simple'. I think your best bet is what I said above. It'll get your pedal/amp talking and then you can get the Gmajor going from there. That should be pretty strait forward if you have a user patch for each channel on the JVM.

Thanks, Lou!

The problem is that I can program presets channel 1-4 fine, everything is on the same channel. But after that, it won't do anything for me. Hmm.

Put it this way: I used to use a mesa triaxis, a 2:90 and a G major etc etc

Now I use the JVM and get MORE tones that I think are much more punchy than the Mesa. The mesa's low end is just way too flubby. The JVM is much fatter and gainier than most marshalls I have tried. Best amp ever, that I have played-IMHO

Very similar to the JSX, only more features.

I was always under the opinion that with the Marshall JVM, less crap in front of it is more. Or, less crap in the loops and all that good stuff. That is a truly remarkable amp (although I gotta admit I was less than thrilled with the newer version put out this year).

The best thing that ever happened to my tone is when my effects board blew up. Just me, the guitar and the amp. :)

I have played through one and it was a great versitile amp. Too many options for me though. If i were you i would get some nice ture bypass pedals and go minimal. You dont need a lot od extras with the JVM. Me...i ended up with the Vintage Modern.

Johnny-

Those Vintage moderns are also REALLL awesome. I actually figured it out guys! I just started hitting pedals and then I realized how to program it. However, now my CC Exp. Pedals aren't working. Oh well. It may not be here for long. I do use a lot of effects because one of my bands has that very "Porcupine Tree" like, spacey sound. Favorite pedals, anybody?

I just got my JVM215 combo a couple weeks ago. I love it. It sounds absolutely wonderful with my rosewood Axis SS. Bass is my primary instrument, but the Marshall makes me want to spend a lot more time playing my 6 string.
