I used to have the SVT610HLF and traded for a SVT410HLF. In hindsight, I wish I still had it. The 410 is only like 10 pounds lighter! I actually could cart the 610 around easier because I didn't have to bend down as far. The 410 had a very awkward rolling position. I could actually put the 610 in the back seat of my 4 door neon by myself easier that the 410 because it's not at wide back to front.

Having those casters (810E) and big ole stainless steel bar on the back helps out a ton. Still, it's not a light load and it isn't any easier when you need to go up or down stairs. It adds up, but is worth it IMO.

Looks like a good one, Andrew.

Will you come carry my Alembic/Crown rig for me?

Hey Ben, is that an F-1X you are playing with? I used that rig for years until I replaced the Alembic with an older Demeter VTBP-201.

Now I find the Markbass stuff I have gets more use and my back likes me more!

Yes, Kirby. It's an F-1X with a NOS Mullard CV4004. Sounds magically delicious. I just hate carrying the darn thing with the MT 1200 sharing rack space.

Yes, I do need a family shot. Just never have gotten used to posting pictures. It is on my list to do though.

Ben, seems like we have similar tastes in tubes as well. My Demeter has two Mullard 12AX7's in it although I cannot remember their source codes now. The F-1X is used as backup now and has a NOS RCA 12AX7 from the 70's in it. Both are powered by Crown K2's.

The racks weigh a ton since they also have dbx 160A compressors in them, but they sound awesome! I love the Markbass for how they sound and how light they are, but nothing compares to a vintage tube. I need to try some of the Markbass tube stuff with some Mullards.

I like the way ampeg sounds, but I've never been a fan of how they play.

But I've always been a bit of a bottom dweller- I love love love lotsa bass EQ, when I'm not playing slap style.

Im with you Stanky.

I love that Ampeg tone. My all tube V4BH/410HE is heavy, but its worth it.

This rig did 2 gigs in the past 2 nights and it has earned the title of "keeper." ALL the tone I wanted I could dial with ease on this setup. Plenty of volume and plenty of bottom. Got many compliments from all of my band mates and even people in the audience (not to mention a lot of honorable mention of the Dargie.)

A good few nights of playing and a great sounding rig. Anyone else just love that feeling of satisfaction?

I'm a French Knucklehead
Weight has become a real issue to me (guess my MarkBass setup drove me lazy ;) )...
At this point, I'm about to change my PA system for small venues, since the current one has a 100 lbs subwoofer I can't stand anymore (even though it has casters).
With the next system I'll have no element over 50 lbs and get enough PA power to let my MarkBass setup at home ;)
Don't get me wrong, I love how Ampeg amps sound, but the weight... OMG...

Played this combination on an open air gig last Friday and I totally liked the sound, especially when the amp got hot ;). However, it was provided and there were roadies to lug it around. If I have to bring my own, I prefer my MarkBass rig any day.
