Who gets the playing time?

There must be something magical about those Black Sapphire 5s because that's the first one that drew me to Bongos, and it's still the best one. I can't remember if it's Jack's bass's older brother, or younger brother, though.

Usually, my gigs are three set affairs, so I'll use a different bass for each set, but 99/100 it's both Bongos going. Had a great gig last night that was recorded at the board, so I should have a great flatwound Bongo tune at some point in the next couple of days, too!

Bongo 4 H/S gets the most play and is still the favourite of all my basses right now, but I'm starting to pick up the 5 H/S more and more. . .

i have 2 EBMMs now .... both Sterlings (pretty identical in action etc) so my choice is currently based on whichever has the freshest strings (i play stainless steal strings and i like teh brightness)

when i get my new lot of basses (HS Sterling, HH Ray, HH Sterling - they start "coming home" monday) my "which one do i play lottery" is gonna be .... (well, i dunno how ill chose)

Once you get all those basses it will be WAY too hard to pick and choose. With your best interest at heart, Ill ask you to send me the Buttercream Sterling, so that decision time wont be as difficult. Id hate for it to be too much on you, and will be glad to help.

So im curious, for those of you with 2 or more ebmm's, how would you say you divide the playing time amongst them?

I only have one for the next 2 months or so. Once i get my new one, im curious to see which one will get played most, im hoping my new one cause that would make sense.

Dark shirt=Desert Gold
Light shirt=Envy Green

Practice is mostly on the Envy Green, because it was neglected by Jack for so long. Also, It's 0,3 kg lighter than the DG.

I have played the SR5 a bunch since it was all I had. The recent Bongo puts me to having to decide.

I will play the Bongo until I play it with the same ease as I do the SR5. Then the bongo goes to the bar gigs the SR5 goes to the outdoor gigs where there is room not to scratch it up.

Unless the Bongo is needed to be loud enough.

Yeah I am a bit confused. What a great way to be though.

2001 Burnt Apple/Rosewood SR5- bought two weeks ago and is getting mucho playing time.I really love the different sound the rosewood board has.I'm kind of glad I didn't part with it yet for that Sterling.
2004 Honeyburst/Maple SR4 -gets played fulltime in one of my bands that doesn't require a fiver.Had to put down my other SR5 completely for a couple months when I first bought it to get used to a four string again.It feels like home now
2001 Black/Maple SR5-My main bass for 4 years now.My first choice when I need a bass that can handle anything.I often tell people that this bass sounds so good that I think it was touched by the hand of God.I've played it longer than any bass i've ever owned. Now that I have two other basses it's getting some much deserved rest.

My natural SR4 is my only EBMM right now, so I have an easy choice!

I haven't gigged with my "off-brand" bass since the middle of last year, I guess.

As of current, like Bill, I'm down to one MM bass(stop panicing, more on the way) though I've gone through a lot and have this to say.

Punch for punch, be it full on StingRay or just SR S.U.B. that SR tone has been my main choice simply because it always gets the job done oh so well.

Though for recording experiences, the Bongos I've owned(both HH's) proved themselves to be monsters in the studio, not just for versatility, but it's that whole Godzilla's esque power that just dominates in the mix.

Though, with the new Bongo on the way, it may give the SR a run for it's money in 'got-to-ness'.
