Hi,

my very first guitar was a half-sized children-guitar (I just turned 7 that time). When I, at the age of 11, wanted to buy my first amp, my parents made me to sell that first guitar and then added the missing money as a birthaypresent (the amp was a Peavey Envey 110). So I don't have my very first guitar anymore :(.

My first EBMM is my Axis Sport (which can be seen here). I bought it 1999 and I play for the last years live nearly all shows just with that one guitar.

Cheers,
Julian

I definitely do not have my first guitar (classical or electric guitar). The classical guitar was given to a friend of the family. The electric was a beginner guitar - a Westone strat-style. It was that guitar that taught me I do not like a single coil in the bridge position! ha ha.

Anyway, I had at least two more electric guitars before I found one that I really liked - an I----z. I sold all of my early guitars except for the I----z, which I keep for sentimental purposes since I played it for 10 years. However, my Balls are the first guitars I reach for now. :)

First Electric

I still have my first electric, a 1976-ish Sears hollowbody with two single coil pickups and SLIDERS for volume and tone controls! It has a head stock that looks suspiciously like a Silvertone. I don't know if they were still manufactured by Silvertone in those days.

I also have my first Gibson - a 73 L6S.

I also, of course, have my first EBMM - an orange Axis Super Sport with MM90's. I would guess it was built in the early 2000's as I got it used in 2003/4. I have been an EBMM addict ever since!

My first was an old Yamaha SG-3, I sold it and have regretted it ever since ( I own one SG-3 now, but not the same). The First EBMM was a Silhouette Special, sold it (to buy Steve Morse Y2D) and bought it again a year later :).

I still have all of my guitars and basses including my Dad's acoustic.
Sadly I'll be selling one or two soon.
But it won't be the MusicMan!

I bought my first guitar when I was a teenager, a Gibson Melody Maker copy, bought in Surrey. Kept it for a few years but sold it many years ago. First 'proper' guitar was a Mexican Strat which still plays like a dream. HOWEVER, my first 'baby' was my 50th birthday pressie from my wonderful wife, my EBMM ASS in PBB which I will NEVER part with. Plays better than anything else I possess.:D

I have never gotten rid of a guitar. My first was a student sized nylon string acoustic...

Mike

Same here on both counts. It was my dad's when he was a kid. I used to mic it with a cassette player, and turn up the volume to get some nasty "overdrive" sounds. Trying to sound like Pete Townshend.

Man, that must have sounded bad.

My first guitar was a cheap learner acoustic I got as a 13 or 14 year old (too long ago to remember). It is no longer with me as I actually broke it across my own head (ala John Belushi in Animal House) at my bachelor party. I still have a scar on my thumb from one of the strings whipping around and slicing it open. (yes, there is a reason I haven't had a drink in over 22+ years)

great to see you up and at 'em boss! hope all is continuing to go well! i've shared the story on here before but i had a preditor (no brand name needed) that kept breaking on me and the store kept sending it back (they are no longer around) but i had it in my room and i was playing and the trem broke on me again... i ran out to the street and smashed the crud out of it... best feeling ever. I won't even look at thier guitars now :)

My 1st guitar was a F*nder Bullet...had it for a month back in the early 80's, then sold it.

My 1st MusicMan guitar was/is my Amber Axis. Had it routered under the trem so it, "floats". Can pull back and get super high pitched tones. LOVE IT and still have it.

Alvarez nylon string, I do still have it. My first electric was a Gibson L6S, sold it decades ago to finance another guitar.

This was my first one (not my picture)... passed it along to a buddy who has it in storage somewhere....

Played the absolute crap out of it for something like 12 years. Went through two necks and the Floyd Rose is just about bent to ****.

But it was great for the money and locked me into 24fret guitars, humbuckers, and floating trems.
