Cases!

I also NEVER pick a bass up by the neck; only by the body! And I mean NEVER!

I keep most of mine on stands. A couple small Rockstands (the ones that sits the instruments sideways), a bunch of body supported only stands and one Hercules hang-type stands. They are just more likely to get played when they are out and even when I am not playing them, I love to look at them. They are functional pieces of art.

I use Hercules wall mountable guitar hangers. The guitars have never fallen off because of the way two little arms come up to lock it in place.

I clean and polish all of our guitars (three 6-string electric, three acoustic and two bass) about once a month.

Yep, my Bongo hangs on a Hercules. I use the single stand---super secure and easy to transport to gigs and practices.

and the plastic Hercules arms are safe for nitro finishes (as opposed to the rubber/foam that some wall hangers have)

I keep most of my cases downstairs in the garage, and just keep a pair of Hiscox cases in the music room for transporting EBMM and Fender shaped basses to gigs. I grab two basses off the wall, and off I go to my gig.

I got mine in it's case right now mainly because my two wall hangers are taken by other instruments that would otherwise be lying on the floor. I have had it hanging before though.

Thanks for all the input!!!!! I mostly keep mine hanging, but of course I keep them clean!!! I just wanted to know others opinions. It's so much easier and quicker to grab it off the wall and start playing!!!! :D

My Stingray is always in a stand cause i want instant access - from next week on he'll be hanging on the wall once the hercules wallmount arrives.

I think if a fragile Stradivari survives 300+ years, my Stingray will not suffer from fresh air and some daylight :) (No direct sunlight of course)

i hang all my stringed things in my home studio.......i am in there every day after work so,if i wanna throw down a take,i figure if i want a guitar or bass........and there it is.

i leave acoustic guitars all about the house too.........if it's near,i'll play it.

my son one day just picked the guitar up about 3 years ago,cuz it was sitting in the living room..........all he does now is play.

I have all of mine hanging in my home office, and and I use String Swing Hangers. I mounted all of them into studs to ensure extra support. I don't like keeping them on stands because of the risk of being knocked over. I don'tlike keeping them in the case simply because it takes up way to much room, so I keep the cases in the band room with the rest of the gear. So far I've never had a problem with hanging them, and they make the office look pretty cool.
