This is a tough one. I know who I want to sound like, but having to go back and objectively listen to myself on recordings to try and decide who has subconsciosly found their way into my style is tough.

After listening to myself, here's what I hear:

-Brian May
-Brad Whitford
-Malcom Young
-Rik Emmit
-Sammy Hagar
-Shades of Neil Schon and Carlos Santana
-Stone Gossard
-Billy Gibbons
-EVH

That's an interesting question. I've always wondered at why my playing doesn't resemble more closely those guitar players whose licks I've been stealing.

I end up sounding like me no matter what guitar (cheap or high quality), amp (tube or solid state), or effects (rack mount or pedals) I'm using.

After all of the Jeff Beck, SRV, Satriani, Cream Era Clapton, Eric Johnson, and Ty Tabor licks I've copped, I don't sound particularly like any of them.

I actually sound more like my father than anyone else. I guess it's in the genes!

For me, it would be a mix between Angus Young, Brian May, Jeff beck, Larry Carlton, Luke, ... and Christophe Godin.

Luke is my favourite (enjoyed him live so many times), but Christophe's playing is amazing (met him a couple month ago, a very nice person, and an incredible guitar player, wow !) ;

Christophe promised us a chorus, we had to choose among 14 ! (in an hour time)

I'd have to say John Petrucci, Jerry Cantrell, Joe Satriani, and Alex Lifeson. I'm still not nearly as good as any of them, but I can definitely hear their influences in my playing.

Since I play so many styles I hear bits and pieces of different guitarists in my playing, but probably the most prominent is David Gavurin (The Sundays). When I bring up a clean Vox AC30 patch with some chorus and reverb, his playing just naturally comes out.

That's terribly hard for me to say - I've been told I Sound like a Blackmore rip-off at times.

My drummer says he hears a lot of Jimmy Page in my sound... I don't. :D
