After getting my Bongo 5 I realized I was happier with 4. Now, sigh, Bongo just sits in case aging like a fine wine.

im pretty much retarded at playing a 5 string so i think a 6 string would be out of the question.
all those extra strings would just cause confusion and a headache :)

i play 6 string guitars... but i tried out the 6 string bongo and i honestly think my bands are just too small to play it.

even my sr5 doesnt get as much love as it should. its an awesome bass.. sounds amazing. but, i put myself to the test and it seems as tho im a 4 banger at heart

I'm really settled on my SR5 and love it:D. When I pick the old non-EBMM 4 string up it just doesn't feel right anymore. (obviously lots of reasons, but certainly having only four strings is one of them.) But 6...... it'll depend largely on the string spacing and neck width (how much more work is it going to be for both hands?). I think the transition to 6 would be easier for me as a regular 5 string player, because I tend to use the lowest string as a reference point for my right hand. This can be problematic when I play 4 string as it takes a minute or so to get the brain back into 4 string mode. (oops wrong string:eek:)

I'm also looking forward to hearing the 6, particularly whether the C has the same bite as the rest. I prefer to use the heavier guage strings on the 5 particularly to beef up the G a bit. Having a .050 G makes a big difference on the SR5 I think.

Lets hope we don't have to wait too long;).

This site is pretty cool; guy makes basses for the fun of it, sells them on for very little. Check out this one stringer =]

Now this is a real one string bass:cool:!

I am going to get one just to annoy guitards. :)

Yeah you can lay down the groove and do chords too. If nothing else you can get the rhythm tard fired and have one less Marshall stack to deal with.

And you can call their 6 strings "toy guitars":D

Go easy on those guitarists. They're just playing short scale six string piccolo basses:)

I only own two basses at the moment. An SR4 and a German made 5 string:)eek:) I really enjoy switching between the two. The tone contrasts brilliantly and I find I approach a 5 string differently. They feel very different and I play them using a different technique. The 5 always has me feeling more "modern" and using better technique. I don't have much time on a 6, but I imagine I'd approach it differently too. They're all basses, but they're different instruments. Will I ever own a 6? Doubt it. I don't have the chops to go with the look or expectations people have of the big 'uns:)

Well to be honest it isn't much fun playing bass without a guitar player. Or a drummer as a matter of fact.

But in the spirit of a good band. It seems normal to me :) They get their chance to mess with me too.

It is more a who tops who tonight. The bongo 6 is going to work so good for that.

LOL just thought guitard then basstard. I reckon I am LOL
