Right now my MP3 player is loaded with demos of originals that we're polishing up to record in the next month or two. The Bali Tourism Authority wants to use one of our tunes for a TV commercial, and on that basis there are 2500 copies of our as yet unrecorded CD presold to hotels and tourist shops in Bali. If another 2000 can be presold we'll have enough cash to make a music video

I just usually pick up an album and start playing a lot of the songs on it. Currently its Stadium Arcadium, and there are a ton of great basslines in there...
Right now, learning some classic stuff to prep for teaching at Rock School. On tap, and almost all the way through...YYZ by Rush! :)

These are the songs I've been working on lately. Would like to get the guys to add them all to our set but I think the only ones we will all agree on are the Gov't Mule tunes.

Effigy - Gov't Mule
Soulshine - Gov't Mule
Beast of Burden - The Rolling Stones
Can't You See - Marshall Tucker Band

The girlfriend absolutely loves the shins at the moment (not my cup of tea though)... if you like folky stuff I strongly reccomend Iron and Wine.... brilliant!!

Oh man, I love playing along to "Tyrone"; it's got the coolest groove!

I also have Goapele's "First Love" on my Roku playlist; the bass line really shines in that song!

k.d. Lang's Ingenue is a fantastic CD. Everything on it is good.

I need to find my copy and try to play along with some of it.

Barkatozz: Listen closely to the bridge on "China Grove". It takes a few times to hear everything, but it really adds to the song to get it all in.

Hmm - it varies between whatever the band is learning this week and whatever strikes my fancy from my iTunes collection on my PC - that's anything from Patsy Cline to Steely Dan to Jimi Hendrix. Often I'm just playin through the playlist of band songs to keep them fresh - hitting trouble spots

If I have the time, regular faves are

any Allman Bros
SRV- House keeps a rockin
Miles Davis -All blues
Miles Davis - So What
And sometimes just flippin through the real book.....
