why an axis?

How about the fret size? Much different that a jp6?

Does the axis have a detuna? Or is that an upgrade option? Also, with no tone circuit, its got to have lots of bite right?

A D-Tuna is something you buy and install on your own.

My Axis is my main guitar. From all the playing it gets, it needed a refret.
It has a warmth and spankyness that I really like.
I put a D-tuna on it, which works great and gets a fair amount of use.

Its the most comfortable guitar I've ever played/owned. Its my go-to guitar.
