The world has become a really twisted place. Folks selling human body parts on the black market and now Sil Special bodies being sold without necks. I am saddened.:(

Wait, I'm actually interested. I can put it together and wire it. that's easy.

Customer Service, Would you be willing to sell Silo neck Maple NON matching and a bridge? How much would those parts be?

My guess is the answer will be "No". Why not just buy the neck off the EBay guy?

Come to think of it, this just looks too shady all around. I'll hold out for another. Although I do like the color and pickup config alot.

no, we only sell replacement parts for proprietary items like the neck and bridge. The old ones need to be returned to us.

sorry for the thread hijack, but Danny, that "Water Saves Lives" charity you're involved in looks pretty cool. I checked it out the other day -- are there any California satellites to it?

parts

I watch the bay very closely when it comes to EBMM. In the recent past( within 6 months), this ebayer has sold 3 petrucci bodies( that I am aware of), he just sold an axis SS neck (that he said had a refret job done to it), and I have seen him sell a SS neck a few months ago. I just emailed him, inquiring about the SS body and where he is getting his parts. Maybe he takes in damaged Balls and parts 'em out??? (Just givin him the benefit of the doubt.) He has a decent feedback rating with no negs. I will let you all know what he says in his reply.

My idea.

Beth, I don't know about California Satellites (is that a band? :D ). The organization is based here in NYC. I know Scott and he travels alot raising money for this. That guy is my hero. He is saving lives by the thousands.

In fact, I was going to sell my Green EVH and give the money to him to build a well. I tried talking to two buyers and couldn't get quite what I was hoping out of it. It's rare, but unfortunately it isn't fetching as much as it used to at this time. I'm still up for selling it to build a well, but it's tough when even for charity, you can't raise what you want.

This is just an idea: If I were to list this on Ebay as a big Charity:water/Ernie Ball charity auction, do you think BP would throw in something to help raise money? Maybe even a EB Wah, something with some real value to it. It was an idea I was going to ask, but got discouraged by the offers I got for my guitar, which was getting close to my minimum, mind you. (Plus, I didn't want to PM BP since he doesn't like that.) Every cent would go to building a well. Maybe even people who couldn't afford the guitar could still paypal me and we could make a big donation.

We'll see what happens. People are thirsty. Feel free to call me if you have any questions. 212-842-4630. Or you could call Scott and talk to him. He knows I wanted to sell it, but couldn't get what I wanted.

Sounds like a great idea. Im sure lots of people here could afford to make a small donation. Maybe you should start a new thread after speaking to Beth.

I'm more than happy to make a small contribution.

How about a good old fashioned raffle.
Offer up say some Shirts, wipes a signed wah as the top prize maybe, and let's make a donation to this worthy cause - Let's keep it within reason.
If anybody wants to raise a wad of cash do like my niece did and run the London (or equivalent) Marathon - she raised over £2000.

EBMM parts ripped apart...

Hi fellas,

few weeks ago a luthier in northern Germany put a Silo Special neck on the Eek-Bay for the simple reason that a customer had him make another neck for his instrument and left the neck.
YES, I do wonder like hopefully anyone else here how someone could just do that to a Silo, but nevertheless I placed a bid...
Sadly I did not get the neck as I didn't pay enough attention to the auction but I would have loved trying it out on my SUB1 for instance.

Whatsoever - and just like King Hazel said - THIS REALLY MAKES ME SAD to see EBMMs ripped to pieces...
...especially when it comes to Silos... :(

A++

I received back a resonse to my inquiry:

THE COLOR IS LAVANDER LIKE THE 50'S STRATOCASTER. I AQUIRED PARTS FROM OTHER EBMM OWNERS OVER THE YEARS FOR PROJECTS THAT I NEVER GOT AROUND TO BUILDING.
THANKS

So it would appear he is a luthier type or project dude???

This kind of thing makes me wish that EBMM could do licensed parts from warmoth or somebody. I understand why they don't, but it would still be really nice to be able to (for example) get a neck made out of an exotic wood for an existing EBMM guitar.
