No problems here, within certain boundaries of course. One in, one out is a good rule. Low budget non EBMM out, nice EBMM in :D

Seems to me the correct answer to this question should be another question:
Why did I marry a girl who hates guitars/gear?

Who's really at fault here...???

Women love it when you involve them in the purchase. Give them some pictures of possible purchases and then get feedback on what they like best.

This does work. But also involve them in the general music conversation on a level they can appreciate. Not too long ago my wife and I were small talking about the kinds of guitars that produced the tones in some rock songs she really liked (she was just humoring me perhaps). I talked to her about the warm tone of a Les Paul that she instantly would recognize from Slash solos she loved. A few weeks later, guess what surprise gift showed up for Father's Day?

My wife doesn't hate guitars but I'm pretty sure my ex wife does.

I met my wife at a gig so she knows that guitars are just part of the package. Plus I think she's happy because they're less expensive than:
a. Guns
b. Motorcycles
c. Boats
d. Racecars or dragsters
e. Anything that requires a trailer

my wife likes to give her opinion on the guitars that I want to purchase. Other than that, she is wonderful and (no she's not looking over my shoulder as I type this! LoL) likes the guitars I have as much as I do. I think though that I won't be getting another one for quite some time after the Neptune Blue arrives!

My wife couldn't be more supportive. For our wedding, she secretly got in touch with Sterling and asked what kind of guitar she could buy to surprise me with. Damn if I wasn't blown away when she gave me a stunning 25th Anniversary guitar that night. :)

That is really, really cool!

I don't have a wife, but my dad absolutely hates it when I buy guitars (living with the parents at the moment). He doesn't seem to understand why I need more than one or two guitars. Luckily all of my cases are black so when I leave he doesn't know which one I am taking with me. Plus when I play at home I'm usually in my room with the door closed.

Are you paying your parents rent?

My wife hates guitars because her momma was killed by one. Another guitar burnt her dad.

I can't call it an Axe. And nothing can have a flamed top.

I'm not paying rent because they insist I don't, which I am greatful for. I am paying for all of my bills, food, and all that. I also help out around the house and doing yard work. I graduated from college not too long ago and it's kind of rough finding a halfway decent full time job. The only reason I was able to get a new guitar recently is because I sold some of my gear that wasn't getting any use and only had to toss a small of money towards it. Regardless of my current situation, he has gotten pissed about it each and every time over the past 13 years or so

Your current lifestyle is pretty common nowadays. I stayed with my parents for one college semester my junior year, and I have had a few friends who have stayed with their parents for a little while after graduating. Economic freedom can be taken for granted, and the stress of post-college life (AKA student loans while at the bottom of the qualified workforce) can be overwhelming when added to the cost of rent. The financial benefits of not having to pay rent has the potential to allow graduates to wait to pick the best jobs, instead of becoming an instant and eternal slave to rent.

Either way, my whole life, anytime a new guitar came in (whether purchased responsibly or not), my dad has always gotten pissed. Then again, that also goes for every album I ever bought.
