Are these basses a lot different regarding output volume and mid to treble range when EQ is all set flat?

This was driving me crazy so I went to a friend's studio to EQ EVERY part of my effect chain.

Turns out the gain was set a bit high on the SansAmp which was a small part of the problem. Biggest part of the problem? The 30th is WAY louder than my 2007 LE SR. We ran it through the board vs. the LE and it was noticably louder. To put it in perspective, my friend (a guitard) had a cheap passive Yamaha bass and we plugged it in for fun. The 30th was almost 4 TIMES louder.:eek:

Maybe I ended up with a 30th on steroids.;)

Bottom line... the 30th is so much louder than my LE and 74 P that my whole rig was out of whack. It will take a while to get it EQed properly, but it will be fine.

Uhh maybe just don't dime the volume on the 30th, try to match it to your other basses, unless you want it to be louder...

Possibly. Or just use the SansAmp. Louder bass, less output.

The biggest issue is that I gig with 2 bands and use 3 SRs (1 5er and 2 4 strings), 2 Sadoskys (these are Bongo-like as far as loudness goes) and a couple of passive Fenders and it is hard to keep changing settings.

Anyways, doesn't matter. I love my Balls and can't wait to play them on upcoming gigs.:)
