My technique has been unaltered for years (about 20) and have never had to adapt for any guitar...only the Axis gives me this slight bother.

But yes appears to be the ring finger also.

There should be a greater tolerance though before the string decides to see if the fretboard really is flat with no edge!

Yes I am a member of the flat earth society!

Sounds to me like someone did a poor "fret-dressing". Happened once to a friend's axe, where an alleged luthier tapered the outside edges down to near nothing. It was supposed to improve the action and give it a nice broken in feeling. I tried it after he had it done, and they basically ruined it.

"Someone"? Who...?

Its all original baby! Never had a re-fret!

But yes, maybe my frets are tapered more than normal due to a heavy night on the sauce before the morning after.... he he

I have owned SSPTS, a Sport, and have never had this problem, but Henry is right. If you have a problem, call customer service.

Tim, take a pic of the frets and send them to me, I'll do the same on mine and compare. I occasionally get it as well but put it down to an Axis quirk. I used to get the same on my older Jem. The Luke never does it.

I solved my problem with the E string. I took the ASS back to the store and exchanged it for a Luke.

I was blinded by the pretty maple. I'm human. :D
