Well, I only own and use 1. I have 2 other basses that are mainly for sentimental reasons, but the SR5 is my money maker. If I had the extra $$ I'd probably buy a '67 Corvette Sting Ray but most of my extra $$ goes to pay for the house, cars, kids in college, etc. I am going to make an extra $1500 in gig money December so that will most likely go towards the 20th SR5 with maple board.

Yes, I agree. Warwicks look terrible and sound bad.
You could not pay me to have one of their models today. Long ago before they were bought out they were a decent bass, but as with many companies that sell out, their quality seems to slip as they go for quanitity over quality. A shame.

If you are a fan and like the musicmanstyle/sound then I can see why you would own a couple
If you have a standard SR for example, getting another with different options opens your options tonally in the same style bass you are used to, so a different fretboard material, or different/extra pickup options between multiple pickups and piezo's and so on all give you different sounds available to you, but keeping the same look and feel you are used to - no different really from owning a SR and a jazz bass for different sounds, but in a more familiar package
I would also consider a couple of a similar bass for different tuning, if you use one or two tunings regularly (or live especially) having two similar basses, one setup for each tuning permanently can be a good help, maybe it sounds excessive to some having two $1000+ basses, but moreso playing live it can be a great help to switch between them seamlessly and have them setup perfectly for their own jobs, rather than having to retune constantly and not having them setup perfectly
Theres also the option of five strings and so on which is a completely different bass
The one other thing I would have one for would be a backup, however bulletproof, things do go wrong, strings break and batteries go flat, so if I was gigging a lot with a Musicman, I might be inclined to have a second incase something does happen on stage for a quick switch to keep the show going, again a pretty expensive thing to be doing, but for a band playing out often and earning decently it can be a great thing to have access to
To some it can seem a bit of an excessive luxury, and personally I can hardly justify $1000+ on one bass let alone multiple, but for those with more spare cash or using them very regularly, it can make sense

I expected that sort of narrow scoped reply here, but its ok.
Just keep in mind sound is very subjective and while there are basses that to me sound BAD, they sound good for someone else. Its about what they want out of their sound. When I write my own stuff, I choose either one of my Thumbs or my Stingray based on the sound I want in the song. Given that, I wouldnt play one of those songs with the bass I didnt write it with, it doesnt sound right to me.

Oh, and I did weight test the other day.....regarding the booat anchor comment...my 30th is .75 pounds heavier than my Thumb 5. As shocked as I was, you can now have your humble pie, both of you

I also have had recent GAS for another brand of bass. Going to say its name here? Nope. I may grab one of those or possibly any other brand but doesn't change the fact that there's no better bass than a MusicMan.
