So you don't look like a total fool in an impromptu onstage experience
Went out with a bunch of friends (read: about 30) for my birthday last night, and stopped in to see my cousin's band who was playing at a local bar. For the 3rd set they pulled me onstage to guest guitar - this is where The Gigging Game comes into play.
The Gigging Game = The live playing of material you dont know, or have never played before.
Rules of the game, with pics for added emphasis: (Sorry about all the F-bombs in the pics, not my choice!)
#1 You MUST have a metal face on, even if you don't know the right chords to play
#2 Make it look like you are having a good time, even if you are playing a G when everyone else is on A
#3 Stay as far away from the front of the stage as possible, do NOT try to upstage any of the other members
#4 Natural harmonics are your friend in Em/Gmaj - use them often!
If all goes well, you'll know when you get off the stage
Sidenote - OrangeChannel, sorry you couldn't make it up here last night, woulda been a blast to see both of us playin The Gigging Game :-D
BTW, anyone know what year that StingRay5 is? It's the older style pickguard, and the bassist is looking for a second one in the same style.
