Hey Guys,

So it popped in to my head today: I haven't heard anyone speak of the Benji Madden signature. I mean, yeah its for Benji...but it IS a music man...it can't be that bad. Anyone played one or have anything to say about them? Where is the love!?

I have thought about getting one upgrading the pickups to either SSS or HSS and getting it refinished in some sort of sparkle color...

I've played one. It's basically a Silo Spec neck/body with one pickup. Thus, I would say just get the Silo Spec because you will have the same guitar with WAY more options.

The benji is made for low tuning (the factory gauge is 12-16-(RPS) - 24w-32-42-52). If you play in normal tuning, you have first to set the intonation and perhaps you have to change the nut (the slots are too wide if you play with 9-42). Perhaps, it's easier to buy directly a Silo .

Why, later on this year of course! Depending on the actual date we will probably at Cheney Hall where we had the Steve Morse clinic last year. 55th Anniversary party weekend, or something like that.

I don't really have any pics of the Benji other than whatever shots people might have taken at the JP clinic.

I'll have to look thru and see what I might have. :)

Wow, this is honestly the first thread about the BM since, hmm, maybe a year ago? At least in my memory! I don't understand the 1 pickup. That's lame, IMO. :p:D

Is the Benji routed with HSS?

I would think the wider nut grooves would still allow lighter strings in standard tuning.

One pickup Esquire fans claim they sound better/different with just one pup in the circuit.
