That obviously wasn't the original finish on it before you heat-gunned it, because we all know that the real thing puts up with heat exceeding the temperature of the sun that John's playing produces. :D
No heat gun exceeds the temperature of the sun...

Except if it was a specially designed JP heat gun... :D

You guys are just SO TOTALLY missing the point.
You see, the paint is one of the most IMPORTANT components on the JP guitars.

The paint was specially formulated to withstand the extreme temperatures generated by John's shredding, which has been documented to exceed the temperature of the Sun.
It also has special filters to protect the circuitry from excess radiation when John goes into world domination mode........

It's also a teflon based non-stick finish for when he flicks the switch to KILLZONE mode.... and everyone around him explodes and dies.

I do believe you missed the most important feature of the paint.

It's a spit sheild...
