Didn't Hendrix play an upside down strat cause he was left handed and people wanted to look cool like him so they made right handed guitars that looked like upside down lefties?

With Jimi, his headstock was upside down... the body was upside down... the pick guard was on top... the whole tamale.

When I see a strat with everything correct with just the headstock reversed, it looks to me like the scene from the Exorcist where Linda Blair's head turns 180 degrees.

as long as there is spandex and foil wrapped zuccini's the 80's will live

Haha... If that's all it takes, I'm living the 80's everyday ;)

I must admit I had wondered if EBMM would ever introduce something along these lines... be it a reverse headstock or a body style specifically targeted at the heavy/hard-rock/metal market. Don't get me wrong, I love the current models and I am a huge fan of the current headstock too... was always just curious... the prospect of EBMM's unique take at that whole genre (V/destroyer/explorer/ML) could mean balance and playability where there previously has been none...

Anyway..no... I wouldn't change headstocks on my current guitars for the world.

I like the headstock the way it looks. Give the guys at the factory a break.

With a headstock like this, 4+2, inverting it shouldn't make a noticeable difference in sound. In 6 in line headstocks, it supposedly gives different tension to the strings (the lower strings stiffer and the higher strings looser... or is it the other way around?) so it would be more than just looks.
