Why not bring back the sabre

No - please don't bring back the Sabre! There have only recently been appreciating - let's keep it that way for us Sabre-lovers. My pre-EB Sabre tone kills equally as well as my '97 Ray.

Or you could get a stingray HH and put a Sabre decal on it. There a guy on eBay who could help out with that. If Wonderdog hasn't shut him down yet.

The sabres did interfere with the strings vibration starting at about the tenth fret especiall on the low e. Our sabre eliminated the large pickups on the neck and sounded pretty good.

Caca there has always been requests and demands for 2 pickup basses...we just finally got around to making them.....

Everyone enjoy their sabre and we will keep messin around with new stuff....

Here is my '79 Inca Silver Sabre (it has a sibling - '79 Inca Silver Stingray)

Most of the time I only use the bridge pickup which is very close to being a Stingray tone.

The Sabres are beautiful to look at, but as BP said there were some issues with the E string on the early ones. Besides the neck pickup magnet issue, there was inconsistency in the preamps. With the neck pickup on, the E string sounds almost muted.

EBMM made a big improvement to the Sabre with the revised neck pickup.

The real beauty of the HH Stingrays is how well the additional pickup and new preamp functions are integrated - and work perfectly 100% of the time. All you have to do is pick the color you want and fingerboard material!

The way I see it... the Sabre was very cool, but EBMM is a company that looks toward the future, and doesn't want to spend their time looking to the past for all of their ideas.

Can somebody post some soundclips of Sabre's? I dont think i've ever heard one and i'm curious about the sound differences between a Sabre and a HH Ray/Sterling.

I guess the 2 pickup basses kind of make a new Sabre fairly pointless now, unless EB just wanted to do the whole F3nder thing and just reissue it just for the sake of doing it.
Cool bass though.
