I think if you're paying an upcharge for colored HS, you should be able to specify.

Lets just talk about the Stingray....

33 colors currently offered. if we offer what you want that is over 1,000 new models. now fretless, fretles lined, 2 band, two band fretless two band fretless lined .....

Seriously if I kept this up I would show you how with over thiry colors offereed and hundreds of options that we would be having to add well over 100,000 models.

At some point you have to understand that these options are killing us and being able to add any color in the rainbow and any combination is just where we have to stop.

Let's go back to the good old days when a man could order his SS special from a choice of 4 colours (3 of which I didn't much like) and a decision could be made in 10 minutes! Currently 23 colour options on the EBMM website, that's without getting into fingerboard, pickguard, tremolo and painted headstock options. Every time you think you can place an order they introduce a new option.
It's disgusting the way this company discriminates against the indecisive!!

I made a guitar from another company (custom guitar) and it had all these colors and gizmos. After I finished and read what I had created, the only thing that popped in my head was.......

If a guitar had an abortion, that is exactly what it would look like

I'd want my head stock matching and my initials monogrammed in 18c gold inlay. And still petitioning for that cup holder. Maybe I should just settle for EB strap-locks.

There's something to be said about having limited selection w/ regards to colors, options etc... It seems the more people get the more they want. No need for me to worry as I prefer natural headstocks. The only ones I have that aren't are my Axis, EVH , and SUB because they didn't come w/ that option. If I did have to choose a headstock color it would be black though.

I still think that by some level, EBMM should offer more custom options... at least for people who would pay for it. Not necessarily a one-off guitar in terms of tooling but say I wanted a JP6 with a complete mahogany body with oiled finish, and a maple neck with maple fret-board? In theory it shouldn't require any more tooling change, just it's own road on the assembly line. If there was or is a way to have one made like the above, I'd pay for it, whatever the cost. I know it's always a possibility, i just need to know who I need to talk to. :)
