Why the Backorder on Cherry burst Sterlings?

I was just wondering if anyone knows why the Black Cherryburst sterling HH w/maple neck/fretboard and matching headstock are soooo back ordered, besides the fact that they are a fantastic bass.

All bases are made to order. Build times are usually between 3-6 months for all colours/options not just black cherryburst. However, a dealer may have one instock already, so if to really need one now, I would advise searching one out at one of the many musicman dealers.

All Music Man instruments are made-to-order. They make them for customer orders or dealer orders. They don't make them for inventory. A dealer might order one for inventory, but that's a different story.

The only "unspoken" for inventory of basses that EBMM has are the ones in BP's office

We have this Exact bass Already on order, due in only 4-6 weeks! Now slated to have a black pickguard, this can be changed to whatever you want, IF specified This Week.

Plus, everything is on Clearance, including basses on order.

Considering the ETA and the extra discounts, you can't beat this deal......
