Or maybe this:

... and that they symbolize the dedication of the company and its leadership to -US- ... the customer... and -US- the Knuckledheads.

Aside from the like or dislike of the colour

I think it is a symbol for us knuckleheads shown by the company to the people on this forum
like that BP and the crew listened to the forum (I think it was over a year when dargins first appeared as his avatar before it was offered)

That we nick named it martini green so they made special inlays for us
just quirky stuff like that

I dont get it.. I dont like them at all.. Just my opinion

Careful...too many posts like this and a mod might delete them, ruining your quick post-count-rackup and putting it under 25. Wouldn't want your post in the for-sale thread to be deleted too.

If you don't like attention when playing at a gig, don't get a Dargie. Every time I play my DD1 at gigs, most of the club folks come up to compliment the looks of my bass. More than any other bass I use. Non-musicians dig the color and LOVE the martini inlay. So do I.

This is in no way a slam against it, but why the high interest level? IMHO, it looks nice, but it would be near the bottom of my color preference list. To each his own, but what's the attraction with that color/scheme?

Come back in twenty years and we'll talk about it. The Dargies will have a lot going for them from a collectors standpoint. The history, the unique color, the detailed features, the very limited production numbers.

A Dargie 1 was my first EBMM, for me the inlay was the thing. If you see a picture of Oli's DD1 fretless blank plank Ray... you will understand. It is class in a glass if you know what I mean!

Yep. And I've seen you already posts some pics... there's more... :

green guitars dont sell

dargie is panache personified.

I bought a Surf Green Classic. And love it! So at least one green guitar sold.

You're probably right, but it's funny that I see more pictures of Music Man in that color than any other. I just haven't seen one in real life yet.

Black Magic Crystal is the new Dargie Delight! Dargies are so yesterday... ;-)

I think this is why I have been obsessed with Dargies, I first saw this pic about a year ago and have finally managed to track one 4H down. Cant wait till it arrives.

Obviously as discussed colour preference is a personal preference and choice, my wife (psychologist) says most peoples colour preferences are due to associations, pleasant or unpleasant experiences in our past that are linked to the colours we see or remember with these events. (Smell is a greater trigger than visuals.)

There are a few basic primitive emotions we all experience as humans ie green relaxes us and slows our heart rate, which apparently why we all love to see the great outdoors, red quickens our heart rate and is stimulating to our minds.

I personally associate the Dargie colouring with a UK chocolate selection known as Quality Street. In the seventies there was a triangular sweet in the selection that was almost this colour (a mid metalic green), my Mum only bought tins of sweets at christmas. I presume this association is why i love the colour.

I really, without being a sycophant, cant think of a colour i dont like stingrays in.

Cant wait till my Dargie 1 4H/Christmas or Quality Streets arrive :D
