Check out the EBMM's these guys at Wild West Guitars have in stock. Strictly SR's at the moment - 4's & 5's ... NICE ones. Since the vast majority of their business is online, most often the basses are kept in a climate controlled vault. They do have a demo area, but these babies are rarely handled. I like the Gold SR5 with white pearl pg. The trans teal one looks way cool too - how's that for a retro look? And that Blue Dawn LE SR4 HH ... grrrrr baby .... VERY GRRRRR.

But my favorite one they currently have is the factory fresh 30th SR4 I just bought today ... it'll be here Friday! The photo of mine has already been removed, so the one you see is still available.

Wild West is the coolest store! The bass room has cool rigs from Ampeg, Eden, Mesa, etc., always a few Musicmans, and the staff is so non-pressure and low key. They also have an adjacent stage and private club that holds a couple of hundred people, where occasionally they'll put on a guitar clinic or concert.

The guitar selection, for both axes and botique amps, has to be seen in person to be believed - it is GAS heaven, or hell, depending on your degree of gear lust...:cool:

I know what you mean. What amazes me most about this finish, is how different it can look in different lighting/at different angles, with respect to how bright or dark the color is. I probably favor the darker looks, but I like the brighter ones too. Check out these 2 photos of the same headstock:


Hmmmm, not sure why the attachments appear this way ... oh well.

From what I can tell so far from the pics i have of it, Oli (I sent ya the link), that section of it shown in this pic I included in the thread has the best figuring. The birdseye figuring kinda gets more sparse moving down the neck toward the headstock, but still looks beautiful to me.

Scratch what I said about the birdseye not being even all over the neck. It is. It's so nice. I think it's just nearly/if not impossible to accurately represent the figuring in photos.

And holy frijoles batman, does this thing have depth & sustain to it!!

I didn't expect the mahogany itself to be so beautiful - I was more so just looking forward to harvesting its tonal qualities. But man ... it is SUPER nice, especially with this finish. It plays with the light alot more than I thought it would & the grain is just beautiful.

I won't say I don't still love the tone of the other SR4's I've known and loved in the past and present just as much as ever - I do. But this thing is really something extra special.

You knocked it outta the park, BP & EBMM crew!
