I was thinking of adding an Xtender to my stingray for fast drop D tuning and the Hipshot website just says: "The BT1 is a direct replacement for the Schaller® BM tuner traditionally featured on MusicMan® " Has anyone on here tried one of these on their Stingray? If so did you need to add any additional holes to make it fit? Have you been happy with this accessory?

I've had one on my Stingray for close to 20 years, no extra holes, no problems, the only thing with noting is they have them with a taller key and a shorter tuner key, the short one matches the stock Stingray tuners, mine's mismatched because they didn't offer the short one for a time, but it works just fine and I've never gotten around to changing it...

Thank you very much! That's exactly what I wanted to hear!

By the way, they're super handy, I've used mine to switch to drop D mid tune... never had any tuning stability issues...
Installed it last night. It's perfect! And you were absolutely correct about the shorter key. Looks great! And I can't believe how well it holds the tuning. Expected there to be a bit of slippage. I haven't experienced any even with the stock Music Man nut. I'm very happy with the results. Thanks for your input.
