Does anyone know if the Slinky flatwound strings currently available for 34" scale lengths (2816) will work on a bass with a 32" scale length?
Despite concerns over the sound of the low B string with a 32" scale length, my main concern is that the taper on these strings doesn't start early enough. The shortscale strings are too short so they aren't an option, even if there was a 5 string set.
I love Slinky flatwounds and run them on all of my electric basses. I'm so set on them that not being able to run them on a bass with a 32" scale length will mean that I don't buy the bass.
At least my wallet will be happy.
