Some will have seen this from my thread title fiasco at the JP forum, but for those who haven't....
I'll go ahead and start out with Reb's guitars comment...
One of the guys that I rode down with has all these Custom 24 PRS, and a Private Stock... he loves em. Anyway, he got plastered. And the most plastered he got, the more offended he got that my friend Raymond thinks PRS's look like boat paddles. LOL So, he hunted Reb down during the concert during Rod's drum solo... He was looking for Reb to justify his boat paddles. LOL I guess Reb said something about them being pretty cool... So, Raymond and I both got that rubbed in our faces. lol
After the show, we talk to Reb. Steve asks him again about the PRS... Reb says something like... "Man, my Suhr kicks the S*&$ out of that stuff!" You could tell that by this time Steve was on his nerves. LOL. So, I just jokingly asked him "So what do you think of say a Music Man Petrucci model?" He had the look on his face while I was asking like.."oh here it comes..." LOL. After I finished, he snapped to attention and pointed at me and said..."NOW That's a nice guitar...!" He went on to say something to the effect that he's been with Suhr for 20 years or whatever, and the thing about his guitars is that they are unique, with exotic woods and whatnot... basically just saying why they are special to him, which I thought was cool. But anyway, I thought all our EB company family would find that interesting. Now, for the concert babbling... lol
I saw Winger in Amarillo Wednesday night. Like Wow man. Kip sounded absolutely amazing, and they seemed to have such a great time. Kip grabbed one of Reb's picks and shoved it in his face, so Reb threw it at him... they laughed.
They were flawless in every way.
Rod is Rod... a legend of legends. I had never seen Rod in person, and I was amazed at his size... I'm 5'5" and he was at least half an inch shorter than I am. And, here I've litterally wondered if my hight might be a problem in getting hired sometime in the future... if it ever is... I don't need that gig because not hiring Rod because he is short would be the replacement for idiocy's entry in the dictionary. lol
They opened with Blind Revolution, which I think they did in 02 and the few 06 shows as well. One of my fave tunes, and it owned live. Other faves they did... Junkyard Dog, Who's the One (prolly my fave Winger tune ever along with Lucky One which they didn't do unfortunately), Down In Cognito, Headed for a Heartbreak(the end jam was fun), and the 4 new tunes they did (I love Winger IV!) which were Right Up Ahead, Four Leaf Clover, M16, and Generica....
Of course they did Madelaine, 17 (She's only 35!!!! LOL), Easy Come Easy Go, Can't Get Enough, and You Are The Saint I Am The Sinner.
I was glad to hear Rainbow In The Rose.
There are a couple of others, I just can't remember them. They had a long setlist...
Really, it ranks right up there with seeing Dream Theater for me both in terms of how good the show was, and how important it was to me to see them.
I just wish everyone was buying IV because it's a shame that these guys are not still selling a million albums....
