Wiring Axis Super Sport similar to Reflex

Hey all,

I've been trying to research the possibility of wiring my Axis Super Sport Semi-hollow with Reflex wiring. I got the wiring diagram for the Reflex from customer service, but notice that it uses a circuit board mounted to the actual parallel/series switch and I can't tell what that circuit actually does.

Has anyone been able to work out how to do similar wiring in their Axis? I've looked all over for a way to wire 2 humbuckers that do the coil splitting with the 5-way super switch and a parallel / series switch but have had no luck.

I'm curious, too.. could anybody open the control cavity and take a nice foto of the extra switch? Looks like a 2-way-switch.. so the wiring shouldn't be too complicated and could probably also be done with a push pull pot.

From the diagram I got from customer service, the circuit board in the reflex looks like the switch has 12 connectors or maybe 2 dpdt switches in one switch?

The 25th has the same switching but uses a 4PDT without the PCB. Ask CS for that diagram and you can pretty much wire it up (provided you have a 4PDT on/on toggle). If you don't have a toggle, you can probably buy the switch from MM with the PCB and wire it up just like the Reflex.

The other way to do this sort of thing is to first wire the pickups to a series/parallel switch (1 x DPDT per pickup, or a single 4PDT for two pickups at once), and then take the output of that switch to the lever. Gives you different functionality, though. If you use a 4PDT on/on/on switch, you an also wire things up for series/split/parallel.

Out of curiosity, have you ever seen a push/pull 4PDT switch? I'll email customer service for that diagram today to see what I'm up against.

The only thing I've seen that's close is the Fender S1 switch- it's a 4PDT.

Thanks! That's the only one I found as well. I guess once I get the diagram from customer service, I'll have to figure out how to wire it up.

That's the part I'll probably get messed up on :-/

I guess that's what needs to be done if you don't want to drill any holes!

Thanks a lot for your insights, beej.... will the Fender S1-Switch do the Reflex-thing or is it a mod for a guitar with pickguard? I never would drill an additional hole in my ASS! (<= don't write such things on other forums )

I got the wiring for the 25th from Customer Service and spent some time looking at it to see how I could convert this to use the S1 switch.

So according to this is how the standard Fender S1 switch is set up:

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the actual diagram, so I've drawn just the series/parallel switch from EBMM and tried to move the wiring over to the Fender S1.

Could someone with more electrical knowledge please look this over and see if it's translated correctly? If so, I'll pickup an S1 switch and give this a try.

Looks good to me- I think you've got it laid out just right. Very cool!

V_S- The S1 switch is a pot + switch, so you can use it to replace your volume or tone pot (assuming you like the look of the hat style knob). You could also use a standard toggle without drilling if you replace your tone control with it

Of course, no one locally has an S1 switch in stock so I had to order a set with knob, cap and coupling sleeve in 500k. I hope the aged white looks similar to the cream colored knobs on the Axis Super Sport...
