It's a standard 3-position switch. I prefer this type of switch (rather than the closed "box"-type) because if something goes wrong in a live setting, usually a fix is only some needle-nose pliers away.

If anyone is familiar with this switch, and how to properly wire it using 4-conductor Dimarzio pickups, and could send a wiring diagram, I would be grateful. I am tired of my "tech" throwing my switches away and installing whatever he has on the bench. Thanks!

Two humbuckers, and it should be wired like the Axis is, from the factory. Thanks!

Hi there!

Pretty simple really...

Solder each pickup's black & white wires together and insulate with heat shrink tubing (not electrical tape.....it gets 'yucky' in a hurry!) then attach the green and shield/ground wires to ground (back of a pot usually). The red wire of each pickup will then go to each side (the outer tabs) of the 3-way toggle.

The inner two tabs of the toggle should be jumpered together to sum the output of the two sides of the switch and that gives you your 'hot' output that attaches to the 1st lug of the volume pot.

The heavier lug on the reverse side of the switch should be attached to ground as well.....

And that's it!

Hope that helps...

Steve.

Thank you! Just to be clear...the bridge pickup's white wire gets soldered to it's OWN black wire, right? And then the same for the neck pickup?

Mark.
