I have an early Silhouette Special without a molex connector and a very early version of the Silent Circuit, and I'd love to wire up a few pickguards to snap in. So I ordered the Silent Circuit Molex connector from EBMM, and I am confused.
White is hot, black is ground, and red is from the battery. And that is easy enough to wire into one side of the connector. Thing is, the other side of the connector has just black and white (and not red). In order for this to work, I'd think I'd need 3 wires on each side?
The other pickguard I am wiring up isn't using the battery, so I am not worried about that. But I am not sure what to do with this one.

It took a while to figure it out but I think the answer is this: the red from the battery is soldered to the red from the silent circuit. (Yeah, I know. 🤦‍♂️)

Why? My guess is this...

The current wiring pack, M05558, assumes the current TRS jack which has only three solder lugs (Tip -> white, ring -> battery black, sleeve to molex black). The older style jack had a 4 solder lugs in a different configuration which allowed the red wire to be soldered there too.

If you can't get someone to add a red wire (try a local auto repair place, I think they molex connectors a lot) you can happily use a small terminal block for the red wires.

See here for the switched jack wiring...
