I was looking at the Rosewood 20th Silo that the guys made for BP, and it made me think how cool it would be to, one fine day, be able to buy a SR with an all-rosewood neck. Maybe they could do it across the range as a limited edition or something...hint,hint
(I know someone,somewhere, has a Bongo w/ rw neck. BP? Jack?)
If available, would you go for it?
Or is it only the skinny-stringers who's crazy for rosewood?

I've owned both, Maple board and Rosewood. I like the Maple because it is faster than Rosewood, but I like Rosewwod beacuse it causes the bass to have a warmer tone than the Maple. Maple is definetly brighter.

If you play straight bass no slap, get the Rosewood...........

That probably has to do more with the fact that it is a Sterling, than the fact that it has a rosewood board.

IDK...i'm running the Sterling in parallel when I slap so it should be pretty close to Stingray as far as the preamp goes. I just think I dig the warmer sound of the Rosewood for slapping beacuse it doesn't seem quite as harsh as the Maple. On the other hand I really like the Maple SR4 for fingerstyle playing..... because of it's brightness it almost sounds like i'm using a pick(BTW I also liked the slap sound of the Rosewood SR5 I had for a short time better than my Maple SR5)

I played the Rosewood neck Bongo at Open House and yes it was good

Those 10 watt bulbs don't burn so brightly, but they have their place. (Inside the refrigerator, for instance.)
