SLO special is a Stingray body with a neck that has the thinner profile of a Sterling.

The ebony fretboard and inlays are for GC's 45th.

With pictures, this thread is complete.

2 thumbs up.

That's the SLO Special did you see the 45th anniversary by any chance?

The SR5 version is not a SLO per se, at least it is not noted on the headstock like on the 4 string version. I believe the 45th Anny on the SR5 is the Ebony board and inlays.

The SLO option is a Sterling 4 neck on a Stingray(SR4) body. IIRC.

Technically, the SLO-option is not more and not less than a Stingray 4 neck with a Sterling 4 nut width on a SR4 body indeed.

You're right about the inlays and ebony being part of the 45th GC-package. Maybe the 45th GC-package includes the SLO-option for 4-string 'Rays, but don't quote me on that.

Mine was $1,994 - but make sure to bring in a 10% coupon which you all probably get mailed to you. The dude at the store tried to tell me the MusicMan was excluded from the 10% but it wasn't on the list. So, I got $200 off. If anyone knows how many are being made, I'd love to know ...

Not to drag this one out of thread oblivion (but that is what I just did... sigh...)

I just picked a GC 45th Anniversary SR5 HH myself. A real beauty that had just been hanging there!

I'm quite proud! :D

On something like this is the instrument commisioned by GC or does BP/EBMM decide exclusively what to make? Why/how was this set of specs chosen? Just curious

Wow! I dig those inlays on the ebony board.

And those are awful pics too... you should see this thing in real life!

I'll try to Ansel Adams my way thru the next set of photos. Its the only way to do the bass any justice.

Zombi - please set us straight on what options we might see on one of these basses. From what I'm seeing:

Stingray 4 H, HS, or HH
Stingray 4 SLO Special H, HS, or HH
Stingray 5 H, HS, or HH

Are there any other combinations I'm missing?
