First thought is yet another potential source of rip off instruments which people bolt MM necks to (or ones with MM decals) to try and fool the unwary.

However they have set necks it says?!?! Not sure how the tone controls work either (no switch or blend)? Only mentioned for interest as I will ever need to know as I will never own one.

The problem with these is that they copy the look of the StingRay exactly. If you looked at those photos without knowing anything you would think EBMM came out with a block inlay StingRay, right? That is a trademark infringment becasue it violates the "Trade Dress" doctrine. That means if the product looks identical to someone elses, customers may be confused as to the source of the product or think there is some connection between the seller and EBMM.

Even worse they use the trademarked 3+1 tuner configuration and EBMM headstock shape. The also call it a "Ray 4" which is too similar to the licensed sterling name "Ray 34".

Agreed entirely.

My bad. Of course the 3+1 headstock is trademarked. I don't know what I was thinking earlier. Too early to be posting online, I believe.
