Hey that's great Spud....I'm sure he'll love it. I've got a 15W Vox Cambridge 15 which I bought 5 years ago and ever since I've been tempted to buy one of the Valvetronix amps like the one you got your son.....sweet gift.

What kind of guitar does your son play?

He's been playing classical for about 3 years and now he's reached 16, he is starting to play electric.

I got him a £25 Strat made from bits and pieces from my buddies guitar workshop, and if he likes playing electric guitar I'll be asking on the forum if anybody has a sub or something cheap for him to start with. He's an awkward s0d and has a habit of knocking things over - I'd rather he gets something that already has dings/dangs and dents!

.. oh for sure Brent I'll be giving that a good try out!!

Excellent! My son is getting a drum kit for Christmas. I'm pretty sure my wife doesn't exactly understand the full ramifications yet.

I own the vox 60vt and the vox 15ad. Got both of them really cheap. I love the valvetronix series. You don't need to crank up the volume to get great practice tones. The clean settings are very warm, compared to other solid state amps, must be the tube in them. You can get some cool feedback effects with them. The distortion settings are good but the clean and mild settings are where it excels.
