update

ok i got hte guitar today. this thing is not a 9.5 out of ten...........how sad. ever seen the spinal tap movie.............this mothertrucker goes to eleven. i cant believe how nice this guitar is. gonna play it tonight but its probably gonna get put away after that lol. there isnt a mark anywhere i can find on it. i have some questions. it has the old style neck plate with the 2 people etc. you all know that one. whats with that. also instead of starting with a g the serial starts with a 8? the coolest of all.........it has the offset saddles the evh came with. how can this be?

It is that way because it is a early axis. My gold axis is the same way with the old logo on the plate, evh staggered saddles and recessed neck plate. The green axis has the staggered saddled, but non recessed neck plate and new logo. The serial numbers are not in any order, in fact the serial number on the gold axis is 87XXX which was lower then the serial number on my last EVH 88XXX... Post the number in the serial number thread and you will get the birth day of you axe.... My bet is it's a 97.

I came so close to bidding on that Axis too but didn't because I thought it was going to go for a higher price than that. Congrats, man, it looks awesome!
