I think it's a great starting point, but not taking advantage of the EBMM preamp's capabilities is a mistake, IMO... I would caution against over use of onboard EQ, though - tends to muddy things up a bit, IME/IMO...

To the OP: The single-H Stingray is quite responsive to your right-hand position. Vary your plucking position closer to the neck, then try it near the bridge. It's pretty easy to get a different tone just by moving around.

I tend to leave mine flat; when practicing at home, I roll off the treble to get a nice tone in a quiet room. But when playing with the band the treble comes back to flat.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Beginning to get used to her now. Tones improving as the strings bed in a bit. Can't get over the neck. Went to play my old Fender Jazz last night and it just doesn't feel right anymore.
