When I first came on this site looking for the trans red axis I saw Brents frankenball which was awesome and got me thinking. If I'm getting a trans red axis then I don't need this trans red OLP anymore.

So here is my version of the "frankenball" I just finished.

I never installed a Floyd Rose or re-set up a guitar and I read all over the internet how I was probably just throwing my money away trying it myself but I can't believe with patience and time I actual set the thing up nice and it plays great. It was sketchy for a while and I thought I would just have a expensive wall decoration but it all worked out. :)

Before and After

When that runaround video first came out I remember demanding to my friend that Eddie was still playing the 5150 in that video. Later I found out I was wrong and rightfully made fun of :p but I always liked the way the striped frankenball looked.

The EBMMs striped up never quite looked as cool as his original Frankie and Kramer 5150....(think new Charvels)

Yea I love those guitars. I saw a replica of the 5150 on ebay a few months ago and had to get it. It's awesome.

I dunno, the striped thing never really did it for me. Cool that it was Ed's thing, but I'm glad he stopped doing it once he got involved with MM.

The whole guitars bogus but I dig Eddie's old striped one so I wanted to have a little piece of VH nostalgia being that a real one would cost a little more than a OLP and a couple cans of krylon. Just for show not for dough so this won't be on the antiques ebay roadshow anytime soon. ;)

The headstock sticker is a UPS label from work glazed over with 50 coats of clear.

That's not how EB does it? :p

Edit - I've taken the pictures down because I had no intent to offend anyone at EB or anyone who makes their living off these guitars. My little OLP project was inspired by Brent's kick arse guitar and the career of Edward Van Halen not some two-bit bootleg replica I wanted to sell. I ordered a trans Red Axis and I don't need the OLP because I'll be getting the real deal soon so I wanted to make the OLP look cool from 10 feet away. I had no intent to sell it or advertise it on here just wanted to say hey folks I'm proud of my paint job similar to Eddie's and Brent's and gosh darnit I actually figured out how to use a floyd rose before I get my Axis and mess it up. :)

still getting some of my ebmm photos together hold itght. and please dont turn this into a olp or 5150 or that guitar. this is a post about ebmm evh;s made for ed and those guitars only. there are other places to talk about the others. think i am being a jerk, i am probable the only guy who got dumped by a girl in the 90's cause she told me there is more to life then evh. i am trying to respect bp and learn about some of these kinda like the silo striped guitar. please have some respect. bp on a side note did you guys paint both of these or only the real nice one.
